The idea in 30 seconds

Three simple things, working together every day.

Reward what you want more of

Teachers recognise effort, thinking and kindness in seconds. Pupils earn points as a Hero, a Sage or a Guardian for the things your school values most.

Never punish

Points are earned, never taken away as a sanction. Nobody is ranked, shamed or singled out. A child who has a hard day simply gets the next chance to be noticed.

Let pupils choose

Pupils decide how to use what they have earned, from choosing the class story to thanking a teacher. Small choices make children feel trusted and in control.

Why it works. It runs the same way every day, in every class, for every child. Pupils quickly learn what is valued in your school, and they start choosing it.

How it works

Quick for teachers. Clear for pupils.

  1. Notice

A teacher taps a category and the pupils who showed it. It takes seconds, from any browser. A gentle prompt shows who has not been noticed lately, so nobody is missed.

  2. Celebrate

Pupils see their points, their Personal Best and how their House is doing. Everyone is celebrated for their own progress, not compared with anyone else.

  3. Choose

Pupils exchange their points for a reward your school has chosen, or say thank you to a member of staff. Having a say builds ownership.

How the classroom changes

When positive behaviour is seen and rewarded consistently, the whole dynamic starts to shift.

At first

Pupils notice what gets noticed. Effort and kindness become visible, and everyone can see what good looks like.

Within weeks

Children start to choose those behaviours themselves. Quieter pupils are seen, often for the first time, and feel part of the class.

Over a term

Kindness and effort become the normal thing to do. The classroom feels calmer, warmer and more positive, for pupils and for you.

This is what SchoolJewel is designed to do. Every class is different, and results depend on how it is used.

Why schools and trusts choose SchoolJewel

Consistent by design

The same positive recognition for every child, in every class, every day. That is very hard to achieve by hand, and it is built in.

Fair to everyone

There are no league tables. Personal Best compares each pupil only with their own past, and House scores are worked out per pupil, so smaller groups are not disadvantaged.

Teachers stay in charge

You decide who is recognised, so it is always genuine. SchoolJewel does the rest automatically: totals, Personal Bests, House scores and celebrations.

One approach across your school or trust

Hero, Sage and Guardian give every class the same simple language. A trust signs the data agreement once, and each school runs its own account.

Everyone belongs

Houses and shared celebrations help pupils feel part of their class and their school, while thank-you messages teach them to notice kindness in others.

Safe and simple

No pupil emails, no chat and no adverts. Full names are never needed. Ready-made data protection documents are included for your school or trust.

Start with one class. It is free.

Try SchoolJewel with a single class and see how your pupils respond before making any wider decisions.

Your questions, answered

Clear, straightforward answers regarding pupil data privacy, classroom setup, and pricing.

Children’s data and safety

What information do you hold about pupils?

A name for each pupil, exactly as the teacher types it, plus their class, their House if they have one, the points they earn in each category, the privileges they choose and the thank-you notes they send. Full names are never needed: we recommend a first name and the initial of the surname, such as Alex M., and the platform works in exactly the same way. We do not ask for dates of birth, addresses, photographs, or any information about special educational needs, health or family, and we do not collect pupil email addresses.

Who can see pupil information?

Pupils see only their own progress. When a pupil picks a friend to share a moment with, the classmate appears as a first name and initial. Teachers see their own class. School leaders see their whole school. Nobody outside your school sees pupil information, apart from the small team who run the service, and only to give you support.

Can pupils chat, message each other or type anything?

No. Pupils cannot message each other, upload photos or write anything that anyone else reads. Thank-you notes to staff use ready-made choices, so there is nothing to moderate. Nothing is public.

How do pupils log in?

With a username and a simple password on a printed login card, or by scanning the QR code on it. There are no emails and no accounts for pupils to manage. A teacher can create a new password at any time, and a pupil account can only ever see that pupil’s own points, prizes and messages.

Do you use pupils’ data for anything else?

No. There are no adverts, we never sell or share pupil data, and we do not use it for marketing or to train AI. Data is used only to run the service for your school.

What do we need for data protection?

Your school is the data controller and we act as your processor, following your instructions. Our Data Processing Agreement forms part of our Terms and takes effect automatically. We can also provide a Data Protection Impact Assessment template, a privacy notice you can adapt for families, and a list of the services we use to run the platform. Privacy and cookies policy · Data processing agreement Email info@schooljewel.com for anything not linked here.

Where is the data kept, and how is it protected?

Data is held on servers in the EU. Everything is sent over HTTPS. Pupils cannot see other pupils, teachers cannot see other classes, and school leaders can only see their own school. Backups are encrypted before they leave our server, stored in the EU, and kept for up to 90 days.

What happens to our data if we leave?

A school leader can delete a class at any time, which permanently removes the teacher and pupil accounts and their recognition records. To remove your whole school, email us and we will delete everything within 30 days. If a paid plan ends without renewal, we keep your data for 90 days so you can return, then delete it. Backups are encrypted before they leave our server, stored in the EU, and kept for up to 90 days.

Is it accessible?

It is built to be used with a keyboard and a screen reader, with strong colour contrast, large touch targets and a Listen button for younger pupils. We are a new service, so if you find a barrier, tell us and we will fix it. Read our accessibility statement.

Using it in school

Do pupils lose points when they misbehave?

No. Points are never taken away as a punishment. A teacher can only remove points to correct a mistake, and is asked to confirm first. Behaviour that does not meet expectations is handled the way your school already handles it. SchoolJewel makes sure the good behaviour around it is noticed too, so the positive examples are the ones that stand out.

Are points awarded automatically?

Teachers decide who is recognised, so every point is genuine. SchoolJewel makes that quick, prompts you when someone has not been noticed lately, and handles everything else automatically: balances, Personal Bests, House scores and celebrations. Because it works the same way every day, recognition stays consistent across every class.

How long does it take to set up?

Create your school, add a class and a teacher, and the teacher can paste in a class list and print the login cards. It is designed to take one short session, not a training day.

What devices do pupils need?

Any device with a web browser: tablets, Chromebooks, laptops or the classroom whiteboard. There is nothing to install. Teachers can recognise effort from any browser.

Does it connect to our MIS?

Not yet. Pupils are added by pasting in names, and they sign in with a QR card. If a link to your MIS matters to you, tell us.

Do parents need to do anything?

No. There is no parent app or account for now, so there is nothing for families to set up. A privilege such as “a positive message sent home” lets you share good news the way you already do.

How does it fit with our behaviour policy?

It sits alongside it. It does not replace your policy, your relationships with pupils or your sanctions.

How do rewards work, and what about allergies and fairness?

Pupils exchange the points they have earned for a reward of their own choice from a shelf your school sets up, and you can pause anything at any time. Our suggestions lean towards responsibilities, privileges and experiences rather than sweets and toys, and food ideas carry a reminder to check allergies and dietary needs. Every pupil earns points in their own way, so every pupil has something to choose.

Don’t rewards harm motivation?

While poorly structured rewards can displace natural interest, research shows that clear, informational recognition actually boosts confidence and effort. SchoolJewel is designed to support intrinsic motivation – celebrating meaningful effort and specific strengths through Hero, Sage, and Guardian categories so pupils take genuine pride in their steady progress.

Is it fair to all pupils?

There is no ranking or league table of pupils. Personal Best compares each pupil only with their own past. Houses are scored per pupil so smaller groups are not disadvantaged, and teachers see a gentle prompt for pupils who have not yet been recognised.

Cost and contract

What does it cost?

Reward 1 Class is free for 1 class, with no card needed. Reward 5 Classes covers up to 5 classes for ÂŁ189 a year, and Reward My School covers up to 15 classes for ÂŁ199 a year. Plans are priced per school per year, never per pupil, and each class can hold up to 35 pupils. Need an invoice or purchase order? Email info@schooljewel.com.

Is there a contract?

There is no long-term contract. Paid plans run for one year and renew automatically unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, and we aim to email a reminder before each renewal. The free plan never renews.

What if we outgrow the free plan?

Upgrade whenever you like. Nothing is lost.
